Our Activities

PCA carries out a range of activities (see About PCA). Activities include arranging exciting field trips for members and PCA friends; carrying out vegetation restoration projects; assisting and carrying out scientific research and monitoring; writing or contributing to detailed reports for international organisations; writing articles about plants and plant conservation for local newspapers; and producing educational and interpretive materials for students, teachers and the general public; we also provide plant identification services and continue to advocate for plant conservation in its many aspects within Seychelles and the region.

Much of our work is carried out on a voluntary basis which means the activities have to fit around our member’s working lives. Funded projects sometimes allow us to pay members for some of the work carried out for that project.

Many of our projects and activities are described in more detail in the various issues of our newsletter Kapisen.

Find out more about what we are doing now (Current initiatives) and what we have already accomplished  (Past projects).
